Title: Have love will Travel
Group: Jim Belushi & Dan Aykroyd
Lyrics
Wow,have love Whoa baby will travel,
Uh huh, uh huh,have love
Woah baby will travel,
I said if you need loving then
Mm,hmm,i’ll travel.
Yeah,i’ll travel from main to mexico
Just to find a little girl that loves me so
No matter when, no matter where i’ll be
I’m looking for a woman that’ll satisfy me.
Wow,have love
Whoa baby will travel,
Uh huh, uh huh,have love
Woah baby will travel,
I said if you need loving then
Mm,hmm,i’ll travel.
Yeah,yeah,yeah, have love
Oh baby will travel
Uh huh,have love
Oh pretty baby will travel.
I said if you need loving then
Mm, i’ll travel.
Well i might take a boat or i’ll take a plane
I might hitch hike or jump a railroad train
You’re kind of love drives a man insane
So look for me walking just a any old way.
Yeah,yeah,yeah, have love
Oh baby will travel Uh huh, have love
Oh pretty baby will travel.
I said if you need loving then
Mm, i’ll travel
[Summary of the song]
This song is about a man who travels anywhere to look for love. He is looking for women who will safety him. If he can find, he doesn’t matter where or when to travel.
[Why I like this song]
Actually I don’t understand the real meaning of this song exactly, but I like this tune and rhythm. There is the lyric “I might hitch hike or jump railroad train”. If I have time, I yearn for hitch hiking somewhere.

Well, Chihiro, I can say this is a very interesting travel song for many reasons. First, the song has been performed here by Belushi and Akroyd who were part of a group called the Blues Brothers and in a movie called The Blues Brothers. The movie was basically about traveling across the US and performing in many cities. The movie is a comedy, but the music is very interesting.
The second interesting thing about this song is that it is a cover. The original was performed by Richard Berry & the Pharoahs in 1959. Here is the Youtube link:

Which version do you think is better? I like the original!! Also, this song is very popular to cover. It was covered by the Imperialites,

and recently by the Sonics,

and even more recently by the Black Keys,

Somehow, I like the original best, but Belushi and Akroyd's version is also pretty good! (Did you catch that Belushi and Akroyd changed most of the lines from "Have love, will travel" to "Have love, I'll travel"? I noticed that when I listened to it.)
One more interesting thing about Have Love Will Travel is that this song is also often confused with another song with the SAME title, but which is completely different. The group is called the Sharps (from 1959) and this song has also been covered by other groups:

I think that the interesting line from your posted song is, "I travel from Maine down to Mexico...". Because I used to live in Mexico, this song reminds me of those days.
Fine play, Chihiro!

There are some songs about travel for love in this blog. I think this is most virile in it. His voice is so cool! I like it!

I think this song is really cool!!
Lyrics are great, the drums sounds makes me happy, and singer’s voices are so nice.
What is more, the choruses of the song are wonderful!!
I really want to shout like him.
If I have a time and money, I really want to go Mexico to eat genuine tacos!
