Summary:
This song is about New York. New York has special power. New York makes us special.

Why I like this song:
Actually, I could not understand the song's meaning at first, but I like this song because it is hip-hop but women's main part is so clear, and once I listen to this song, I can't forget it. And more, I can imagine how New York is from this song. Though New York is so big city, I would like to visit New York which dreams are made of and there are nothing I can't do.

Song: the weight
Group: the band

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjCw3-YTffo

Lyrics

I pulled into Nazareth, I was feeling 'bout half past dead
I just need some place where I can lay my head
``Hey mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?''
He just grinned and shook my hand, ``No'' was all he said

Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me

I picked up my bags, I went looking for a place to hide
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walking side by side
I said ``Hey Carmen, come on, let's go downtown''
She said ``I gotta go but my friend can stick around''

Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me

Go down Moses, there's nothing you can say
It's just old Luke, and Luke's waiting on the judgement day
``Well, Luke my friend, what about young Anna-Lee?''
He said ``Do me a favour son, won't you stay and keep Anna-Lee company?''

The Weight 歌詞
LoveCMSの洋楽歌詞

Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog
He said ``I will fix your rat if you'll take Jack my dog''
I said ``Wait a minute Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man''
He said ``That's okay boy, won't you feed him when you can?''

Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me

Catch a cannonball now to take me down the line
My bag is sinking low and I do believe it's time
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one
Who sent me here with her regards for everyone

Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me

Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me

[Summary]
The song comprises four episodes, in each of which a traveler meets a person or a group of people. As you can see, the song is more and more mysterious if you try to interpret who is the traveler, why he travels, where he is headed for, etc.

[Why I like it]
Probably, there's not much meaning in this song per se: it may be the listener who creates a story based on this ostensibly 'non-sense' song. This way the song gives you more freedom, and that's why I like it very much. When you think about, what is depicted in the song is exactly the way a travel goes: you encounter a lot of exotic things and people, and at a certain point you realize that you are waiting for the day to go back home. In other words, you discover your home by traveling outside.

Title: I run to you
Singer:Lady Antebellum

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs38lKxmtI4

I run from hate I run from prejudiceI run from pessimistsBut I run too lateI run my lifeOr is it running meRun from my pastI run too fastOr too slow it seemsWhen lies become the truthThat's when I run to you

This world keeps spinning fasterInto a new disaster so I run to you
I run to you baby And when it all starts coming undone Baby you're the only one I run to
I run to you

We run on fumesYour life and mineLike the sands of timeSlippin' right on throughAnd our love's the only truthThat's why I run to you

Title:You and I
Singer:Celine Dion

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKRX6zGoUK4

(Lyrics)

High above the mountains, far across the sea
I can hear your voice calling out to me
Brighter than the sun and darker than the night
I can see your love shining like a light
And on and on this earth spins like a carousel
If I could travel across the world
The secrets I would tell

Chorus:
You and I
Were meant to fly
Higher than the clouds
We'll sail across the sky
So come with me
And you will feel
That we're soaring
That we're floating up so high
Cause you and I were meant to fly

Sailing like a bird high on the wings of love
Take me higher than all the stars above
I'm burning, yearning
Gently turning round and round
I'm always rising up I never
Want to come back down

Chorus x2

You and I were meant to fly

[The summary of this song]
Love is very important thing like mountains and sky.
If we can get love, we can try everything and could fly, too.

[Why I like this song]
I like this singer, and her voice is really beautiful and strong.
Also, this song is written about love.

Title:Party In The USA
Singer: Miley Cyrus

(Lyrics)

I hopped off the plane at L.A.X.
With a dream and my cardigan
Welcome to the land of fame excess,
Am I gonna fit in?

Jumped in the cab,
Here I am for the first time
Look to the right and I see the Hollywood sign
This is all so crazy
Everybody seems so famous

My tummy's turnin' and I'm feelin' kinda home sick
Too much pressure and I'm nervous,
That's when the taxi man turned on the radio
And a Jay Z song was on
And the Jay Z song was on
And the Jay Z song was on

[Chorus:]
So I put my hands up
They're playing my song,
And the butterflies fly away
I'm noddin' my head like yeah
I'm movin' my hips like yeah
I got my hands up,
They're playin' my song
I know I'm gonna be OK
Yeah, it's a party in the USA
Yeah, it's a party in the USA

Get to the club in my taxi cab
Everybody's lookin at me now
Like "Who's that chick, that's rockin' kicks?
She's gotta be from out of town"

So hard with my girls not around me
Its definitely not a Nashville party'
cause all I see are stilettosI guess I never got the memo
My tummy's turnin' and I'm feelin' kinda home sick
Too much pressure and I'm nervous
That's when the D.J. dropped my favorite tune
And a Britney song was on
And the Britney song was on
And the Britney song was on

[Chorus]
Feel like hoppin' on a flight (on a flight)
Back to my hometown tonight (town tonight)
Something stops me everytime (everytime)
The DJ plays my song and I feel alright

[Chorus x2]

Title: Travelin' Man
Singer: Ricky Nelson

(Lyrics)

I'm a travelin' man
I've made a lot of stops all over the world
And in every part I own the heart
Of at least one lovely girl

I've a pretty Seniorita waiting for me
Down in old Mexico
If you're ever in Alaska stop and see
My cute little Eskimo

Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong
Waits for my retune

Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki
And I held you oh so tight

[instrumental break]

Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong
Waits for my return

Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki
And I held you oh so tight

Oh, I'm a travelin'man
Yes, I'm a travelin' man

(Summary of the song)

They were a "pretty seniorita" in Mexco, an

doll in Hong Kong, and a Polynesian in Waikiki.

Summary
this song is used in the movie "Madagascar 2". the main character, Alex who is lion. he had to leave his own home because hunter caught him when he was little boy. this song was used that part and Alex feels good even he stayed at zoo because he is hit, so he feels he is in heaven.

This movie is really interesting for me, and in madagascar 2, Alex could meet his real father, mother and friends. His hometown was actually in this jungle(savannah) but he still miss his zoo and his friends, like zebra, hippopotamus and giraffe. If you want to watch this movie and this song also makes you happy to go to travel^^

Title: Life is a highway
Singer: Rascal Flatts

[Lylics]

Whooo umm yeah...
Life's like a road that you travel on
When there's one day here and the next day gone
Sometimes you bend, sometimes you stand
Sometimes you turn your back to the wind
There's a world outside ev'ry darkened door
Where blues won't haunt you anymore
Where brave are free and lovers soar
Come ride with me to the distant shore
We won't hesitateTo break down the garden gate
There's not much time left today

[Chorus:]
Life is a highwayI wanna ride it all night long
If you're going my wayI wanna drive it all night long
Through all these cities and all these towns
It's in my blood and it's all aroundI love you now like
I loved you thenThis is the road and these are the hands
From Mozambique to those Memphis nights

The Khyber Pass to Vancouver's lights

Knock me down get back up again
You're in my blood
I'm not a lonely man
There's no load I can't hold
Road so rough this I know
I'll be there when the light comes in
Just tell 'em we're survivors

[Chorus]
Gimme gimme gimme gimme yeah
[Chorus]

There was a distance between you and I (between you and I)
A misunderstanding once
But now we look it in the eye
Ooooo...Yeah!
There ain't no load that I can't hold
Road so rough this I know
I'll be there when the light comes in
Just tell 'em we're survivors

[title]Traveler's Song

[singer]Future of Foresty

[lyrics]

Wait, stay here and have a drink of time

Wait, before you split yourself in two

There's time for you If you travel here, you will feel it all

The brightest and the darkest If you travel here, listen to your heart

And take with you what lasts forever Sleep, and dream the dream of when you fly

See through traveler's eyes who want to give To live and give

If you travel here, you will feel it all

The brightest and the darkest If you travel here, listen to your heart

And take with you what lasts forever

[Summary of the song]
I think this song is about appeals of "here"(though we don't know the place of "here") . And it is important to relax and listen to our heart when we travel "here". I guess the message of this song is "Don't be afraid and let's travel "here" with your precious things."

[Why I like this song]
I like this song's rhythm and singer's voice. It makes me comfortable.
And the lyrics excite my interests for travel.

Title : Take me home, Country Roads

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHXGsUqWv5o

[lyric]
Almost heaven
West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountain
Shenandah River

Life is old there
older than the trees
YOunger than the mountains
Growin' like a breeze

Country Roads take me home
To the place i belong
West Virginia mountain momma
Take me home Country Roads

All my memories
gather 'round her
Miner's lady
Stranger to blue water

Dark and dusty
Painted on the sky
Misty taste od moon shine
Teardrop in my eye

Country Roads take me home
To the place i belong
West Virginia mountain momma
Take me home Country Roads

i hear her voice in the mornin' hours
She calls me
the radio reminds me
of my home far away and Drivin' down the road
i get a feelin'
That i should have been home
Yesterday, Yesterday

Country Roads take me home
To the place i belong
West Virginia mountain momma
Take me home Country Roads

1. This song is a soundtrack of a film "Madagascar 2." Four animals from New York get to Africa which they feel like they went back to their hometown. This song is not valid simply for the movie. We sometimes feel like "It's like I'm in heaven" or "I'm feeling right at home."

2. I like the up-tempo tune.
It matches the mood of movie.

Title: King of the Road

Singer: Roger Miller

Lyrics:

Trailers for sale or rent
Rooms to let...fifty cents.
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but..two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

Third boxcar, midnight train
Destination...Bangor, Maine.
Old worn out suits and shoes,
I don't pay no union dues,
I smoke old stogies I have found
Short, but not too big around
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

I know every engineer on every train
All of their children, and all of their names
And every handout in every town
And every lock that ain't locked
When no one's around.

I sing,Trailers for sale or rent
Rooms to let, fifty cents
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but, two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

1. Summary of the song:
The lyrics tell of a hobo who despite being poor revels in his freedom. They jump onto a trailers, boxcar and train and enjoy their life of the nature in the United States. And it describes himself humorously as the "king of the road". Miller mentioned writing it while in the Chicago area.

2. Why I like this song:
When I listened to the song, I come to want to travel freely without deciding the destination. I like this relaxed tune.

Title: The long and winding Road

Singer: The Beatles

[Lyrics]

The long and winding road
That leads to your door
Will never disappear
I've seen that road before
It always leads me here
Lead me to your door.
The wild and windy night
That the rain washed away
Has left a pool of tears
Crying for the day.
Why leave me standing here?
Let me know the way.
Many times I've been alone
And many times I've cried,
Anyway you'll never know
The many ways I've tried.
And still they lead me back
To the long, winding road
You left me standing here
A long, long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here
Lead me to your door.
But still they lead me back
To the long winding road
You left me standing here
A long, long time ago (ohhh)
Don't keep me waiting here (don't keep me waiting)
Lead me to your door. (yeah yeah yeah yeah)

[Summary of the song]

This song is about a travel to lover.
You can think about both travel and love.
There is a road toward the lover.
But the road is long and wide,
so you can imagine how it's not easy to get the lover.

[Why I like this song]

I like this song because I love Beatles and this kind of rhythm.
Also, I can understand the feeling.
I think love is one of the travel.
The road is difficult to get destination.
It's uncomfortable, and lonely.
Falling in love is similar to this situation.
I can imagine both travel and love in the same time.
It's profitable, isn't it?

[Lyrics]
Tell me which road are you travelling
which road are you travelling on
tell me who you will turn to
when the light has gone

there's just one road
one road to freedom

in my life I have been cursed
I have lived the best of times
I have suffered the worst
do you know which road you're travelling
do you know where you want to be

Title:When I Paint My Masterpiece
Singer:Elliot Smith (cover) , Bob Dylan

Oh, the streets of Rome are filled with rubble,
Ancient footprints are everywhere.
You can almost think that you're seein' double
On a cold, dark night on the Spanish Stairs.
Got to hurry on back to my hotel room,
Where I've got me a date with Botticelli's niece.
She promised that she'd be right there with me
When I paint my masterpiece.

Oh, the hours I've spent inside the Coliseum,
Dodging lions and wastin' time.
Oh, those mighty kings of the jungle, I could hardly stand to see 'em,
Yes, it sure has been a long, hard climb.
Train wheels runnin' through the back of my memory,
When I ran on the hilltop following a pack of wild geese.
Someday, everything is gonna be smooth like a rhapsody
When I paint my masterpiece.

Sailin' 'round the world in a dirty gondola.
Oh, to be back in the land of Coca-Cola!

I left Rome and landed in Brussels,
On a plane ride so bumpy that I almost cried.
Clergymen in uniform and young girls pullin' muscles,
Everyone was there to greet me when I stepped inside.
Newspapermen eating candy
Had to be held down by big police.
Someday, everything is gonna be diff'rent
When I paint my masterpiece.

Title: Home for a Rest
Group: Spirit of the West

[Lyrics]
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
These so-called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink I need home for a rest

We arrived in December and London was cold
We stayed in the bars along Charing Cross Road
We never saw nothin' but brass taps and oak
Kept a shine on the bar with the sleeves of our coats

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a week, I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home

Euston Station the train journey north
In the buffet car we lurched back and forth
Past old crooked dykes through Yorkshire's green fields
We were flung into dance as the train jigged and reeled

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a week, I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home

By the light of the moon, she'd drift through the streets
A rare old perfume, so seductive and sweet
She'd tease us and flirt, as the pubs all closed down
Then walk us on home and deny us a round
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home

The gas heater's empty, it's damp as a tomb
The spirits we drank now ghosts in the room
I'm knackered again, come on sleep take me soon
And don't lift up my head till the the twelve bells at noon

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home

[Summary of the song]
This song is about a man who travels England by train and a buffet car.
While he traveling, he drank alcohol a lot and seems really tired.
I think he traveled another place to escape from his situation, but as you can see in lyrics, “Take me home,” his desire is going back to home.

[Why I like this song]
I like this song because there are many musical instruments, such as accordion and traditional instrument, looks like flute are used in melody and the vocalist’s voice is really nice!
In addition, the lyrics of this song are not so happy, however, melody is so exciting.

Don’t you think it is funny? I like that kind of songs so much!

Title:I've Never Been To Me
Singer:Charlene

(lyric)
Hey lady, you lady
Cursin' at your life
You're a discontened mother
And a regimented wife
I've no doubt you dream about
The things you'll never do
But I wish someone had of talked to me
Like I wanna talk to you
I've been to Georgia and CaliforniaAnd anywhere
I could runTook the hand of a preacher man
And we made love in the sun
But I ran out of places and friendly faces
Because I had to be freeI've been to paradise
But I've never been to me
Please lady, please ladyDon't just walk away
'Cause I have this need to tell you
Why I'm all alone todayI can see so much of me
Still living in your eyes
Won't you share a part of a weary heart
That has lived a million lies
Oh I've been to Nice and the Isle of Greecewhile
I sipped champagne on a yacht
I moved like Harlow in Monte CarloAnd showed 'em what I've got
I've been undressed by kings
And I've seen some things
That a woman ain't supposed to see
I've been to paradiseBut I've never been to me

Title: Roam

Group: The B-52's

[Lyrics]

I hear a wind
Whistling air
Whispering in my ear

Boy Mercury shootin' through every degree
OOO girl dancin' down those dirty and dusty trails
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss

Roam if you want to
Roam around the world
Roam if you want to
Without anything but the love we feel

Skip the air-strip for the sunset
Ride the arrow to the target one
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss

Roam of you want to
Roam around the world
Roam if you want to
Without anything but the love we feel

Fly the great big sky
See the great big sea
Kick through continents
Bustin' boundaries
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss

Roam if you want to
Roam around the world
Roam if you want to
Without wings, without wheels

Roam if you want to
Roam around the world
Roam if you want to
Without anything but the love we feel

Take it hip to hip Rock it through the wilderness...

[Summary of the song]

This song encourages us to roam around the world ambitiously!

I guess its message is "There is nothing you're afraid of, go ahead".

This motif is roam(like travel), but it also advices us to be brave.

[Why I like this song]

I like this song because it cheers me up. Also the phrase, "the trip bigins with a kiss"

is so profound and interesting. The vocal's husky voice matches this lyrics.

Title: Travel Song

Group: Shrek and Donkey (Shrek The Musical)

[Lyrics]

Travel Song
[Shrek]
(Spoken)
You know this may turn into the longest day of my entire life

[Donkey]
Oh! I got the prefect remedy for that
[Shrek]
Donkey, please I'm begging you

[Donkey]
Sing a song
Yes, a travel song, when you gotta go somewhere
Cause the fun is getting there,
Yeah! Oh what the heck I must confess I love a road trip!

Sing a song
Let's hit the trail
Forget the maps, forget the guides
Before you know it you've made strides with me

And I know all I need all along
Is a path, and pal, and a song
So I'm singing and I'm palling with you

(Spoken)
See makes the time go by faster

[Shrek, with {Donkey interjecting}]
Why me? Why me?
{This is nice!}
Tell me what was my crime
{We are strolling}
As chatty as a parrot, more annoying than a mine
{Hey look a cat who's wearing boots, that's crazy!}

Why me? Why me?

A simple answer would be fine
{Mmm this is good cardio}
Won't someone please send me a sign?
{ Hey look a sign, you need a pal avenue straight ahead}

What did I do to deserve this honestly?
This ass of mine is asinine
Why me?

[Donkey]
Ah man what could be better than this?
[Shrek and {Donkey} singing at the same time]
Why me? Why me?
{Sing a Song, lets hit the road}
A simple answer would be fine
{It's the way to get around}
Oh someone please send me a sign
{Before you know it you've made ground with me}

What did I do to deserve this honestly?
{And I know all I need all along, is a path, and pal, and a song}
This ass of mine is asinine
{So I'm singing and I'm palling with you}
[Shrek]
That'll do donkey, that'll do

Title:Harem Holiday
Singer:Elvis Presley

[Lyrics]
Gonna travel, gonna travel wild and free

I'm gonna pack my bags
because this great big world is calling me
Every pretty girl's gonna know I'm around
They're gonna know I'm in town on a harem holiday
Twenty women, twenty women by my side
I'm gonna kiss them all,
because I've gotta keep 'em satisfied
Gonna have the best time money can buy
I'm gonna be flying high on a harem holiday
If Romeo had a harem holiday
You can bet that Juliet would have never been his girl forever
Gonna go back, gonna catch that midnight plane
Twenty dancing girls are waiting just to call my name
Gonna have a ball, I ain't gonna waste no time
I'm gonna make 'em all mine on a harem holiday
If Romeo had a harem holiday
You can bet that Juliet would have never been his girl forever
Gonna travel, gonna travel wild and free
I'm gonna pack my bags

Every pretty girl's gonna know I'm around

Title: Last Train To Clarksville
Group: The Monkees

[Lyrics]
Take the last train to Clarksville,
And I'll meet you at the station.
You can be be there by four thirty,
'Cause I made your reservation.
Don't be slow, oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!

'Cause I'm leavin' in the morning
And I must see you again
We'll have one more night together
'Til the morning brings my train.
And I must go, oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
And I don't know if I'm ever coming home.

I'll be waiting at the station.
We'll have time for coffee flavored kisses
And a bit of conversation.

Now I must hang up the phone.
I can't hear you in this noisy

Title: Sausalito Summer Night
Group: Diesel

Lyrics
We left for Frisco in your Rambler
The radiator running dry
I've never been much of a gambler
and had a preference to fly
You said "forget about the airline,
let's take the car and save the fare."
We blew a gasket on the Grapevine
and eighty dollars on repairs
(chorus)
All aboard (Sausalito summernight)
All aboard
Hot summer night in Sausalito
Can't stand the heat another mile
Let's drop a quarter in the meter
and hit the sidewalk for a while
I'll have a burger and a root beer
You feed the heap some of the grape
A shot of premium to boot, dear
We'll get across the Golden Gate
(chorus)
All aboard (Sausalito summernight)
All aboard (Sausalito summernight)
All aboard (Sausalito summernight)
All aboard
Another mile or two to Frisco
Two hundred gallons from L.A.
The engine's thumping like a disco
We ought to dump her in the bay
(chorus)
All aboard (Sausalito summernight)
All aboard
Cashin' all my checks
Scrapin' out my bank
Spend it on a Rambler
with a whirlpool in the tank
Look out over here
Watch out over there
Can't afford a blowout
'cause we haven't got a spare
(chorus)
All aboard (Sausalito summernight)
All aboard (Sausalito summernight)
All aboard (Sausalito summernight)
All aboard
  1. [Summary of the song/at least three sentences] This song is about friends who decide to go on a trip by car (a Rambler is a kind of car). The person who organized the trip said it would be cheaper to travel to Frisco (San Francisco) by car from the LA area. Unfortunately, the travelers have car trouble (blew a gasket on the Grapevine--a north/south freeway that goes through LA). So, the cost of this trip was increased and the singer is worried that they might have a blowout (a violent flat tire).
  2. [Why I like this song] I think this song is rather funny. I can say that the lyrics are really wonderful. It is an interesting song about travel. It gives the impression that not all trips turn out the way we want them to! I also love the guitar solo.
