Title: Travel Song

Group: Shrek and Donkey (Shrek The Musical)

[Lyrics]

Travel Song
[Shrek]
(Spoken)
You know this may turn into the longest day of my entire life

[Donkey]
Oh! I got the prefect remedy for that
[Shrek]
Donkey, please I'm begging you

[Donkey]
Sing a song
Yes, a travel song, when you gotta go somewhere
Cause the fun is getting there,
Yeah! Oh what the heck I must confess I love a road trip!

Sing a song
Let's hit the trail
Forget the maps, forget the guides
Before you know it you've made strides with me

And I know all I need all along
Is a path, and pal, and a song
So I'm singing and I'm palling with you

(Spoken)
See makes the time go by faster

[Shrek, with {Donkey interjecting}]
Why me? Why me?
{This is nice!}
Tell me what was my crime
{We are strolling}
As chatty as a parrot, more annoying than a mine
{Hey look a cat who's wearing boots, that's crazy!}

Why me? Why me?

A simple answer would be fine
{Mmm this is good cardio}
Won't someone please send me a sign?
{ Hey look a sign, you need a pal avenue straight ahead}

What did I do to deserve this honestly?
This ass of mine is asinine
Why me?

[Donkey]
Ah man what could be better than this?
[Shrek and {Donkey} singing at the same time]
Why me? Why me?
{Sing a Song, lets hit the road}
A simple answer would be fine
{It's the way to get around}
Oh someone please send me a sign
{Before you know it you've made ground with me}

What did I do to deserve this honestly?
{And I know all I need all along, is a path, and pal, and a song}
This ass of mine is asinine
{So I'm singing and I'm palling with you}
[Shrek]
That'll do donkey, that'll do

[summary of the song]

This song is sung in the musical "Shrek The Musical".
Two of the characters are about to go somewhere together,
and one of them seems to have commited a crime.
But their singing voice sound happy.

[Why I like this song]
I think one of the characters' interjecting is nice.
This way of singing made me fun!
And the phrase "Forget the map, forget the guides" is my favorite.
I really want to have trip like this!

Well, first, I really didn't know that there was a Shrek musical, so that part is already surprising to me. Have you been to see this musical??

Second, I was wondering if this is a Broadway show in New York...

I also like the phrase, "forget the maps, forget the guides" because it reminds me of when I rented a room in one of my friend's house in southern California. Sometimes on the weekend, we decided to just drive somewhere and we didn't have a clear plan. What made the trips exciting is we didn't know what we were going to do when we left. We visited the Grand Canyon in this way! One other time, we went to Palm Desert and found some beautiful tennis courts that no one was using. We turned on the lights and played tennis for six or seven hours. We were exhausted but, we had so much fun!

This is an interesting choice Chihiro.
