Title: Roam
Group: The B-52's
[Lyrics]
I hear a wind
Whistling air
Whispering in my ear
Boy Mercury shootin' through every degree
OOO girl dancin' down those dirty and dusty trails
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss
Roam if you want to
Roam around the world
Roam if you want to
Without anything but the love we feel
Skip the air-strip for the sunset
Ride the arrow to the target one
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss
Roam of you want to
Roam around the world
Roam if you want to
Without anything but the love we feel
Fly the great big sky
See the great big sea
Kick through continents
Bustin' boundaries
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss
Roam if you want to
Roam around the world
Roam if you want to
Without wings, without wheels
Roam if you want to
Roam around the world
Roam if you want to
Without anything but the love we feel
Take it hip to hip Rock it through the wilderness...
[Summary of the song]
This song encourages us to roam around the world ambitiously!
I guess its message is "There is nothing you're afraid of, go ahead".
This motif is roam(like travel), but it also advices us to be brave.
[Why I like this song]
I like this song because it cheers me up. Also the phrase, "the trip bigins with a kiss"
is so profound and interesting. The vocal's husky voice matches this lyrics.
You will like this song, I think.

"Roam" is an excellent song in my opinion. I know the voices of Katy Pierson and Cindy Wilson very well. As for Fred Schneider (the main male vocalist), he is the voice that everyone associates with the B-52's. I heard the B-52's perform live many years ago. Before every song they performed, Fred Schneider would say, "This is a dance song." I thought that was pretty funny. I stopped liking the sound of the B-52's when they became "commercialized." Most of their recent songs were (in my opinion) lacking in many aspects (for example, I really don't like the song "Love Shack"). Nevertheless, "Roam" is one song that seemed to retain the B-52's earlier style and that is why I like the sound.
I like the chorus of this song. I like they jangling guitars as well.
My favorite B-52's song is called "Dance this Mess Around." In that song, Fred Schneider actually plays a toy piano on stage--using one finger. Here's the Youtube webpage (which shows some photos of the B-52's in the old days).

I like this song so much!!
Melody is really exciting and the line, “Fly the great big sky” makes me feel like to go traveling!!
Also, I love the PV of this song. I was surprised that there were many Japanese traditional things appeared in it, such as Shamisen, three-stringed Japanese instrument, and the mask of Noh play. It was so funny!!
